Scott Wiseman first joined Darlington in a loan deal from Hull City in March 2007 until the end of the 2006/07 season. Following the campaign he joined Darlington on a perminant basis after being released by Hull. Wiseman had been with the Tigers and the club's Centre of Excellence since the age of six.
As an eighteen year-old approaching the end of the second year of his three-year YTS stint, Wiseman was awarded his first professional contract. Just days after penning his first pro deal he made his senior debut at Kidderminster Harriers in April 2004 as Hull drew 1-1. Hull player Lee Marshall suffered a broken leg after only nine minutes and it handed the youngster his first game.
Wiseman was called up to the England under twenty squad around a year later in May 2005 for the Toulon Tournament in France. With Hull completing back-to-back promotions, first-team opportunities were limited during the 2004/05 season but Wiseman gained further senior experience with a loan spell at League Two Boston United and before joining Darlington near the end of the 2006/07 campaign had a spell at Rotherham United.
