Brian HortonMacclesfield Town will entertain Quakers on Saturday afternoon. Darlington will head to Moss Rose without a win on their travels in since the middle of August when they beat Grimsby Town at Blundell Park. Performances have improved for Darlington of late however they need to score goals if they are to chalk up three points. Macclesfield find themselves well down the table going into this encounter. With just one win in the last five outings Brian Horton's men have found things tough going.

Manager Dave Hodgson has already attempted to elevate the goal scoring problem with the signing of Tresor Kandol. The forward made his debut last weekend against Wycombe Wanderers and also played in the reserve game against York during the week. His starting place looks certain however the question remains who will partner Kandol. Hodgson hinted earlier in the week to Quakers World that Sodje may miss out on the game which led him to play Guylain Ndumbu-Nsungu and Kandol together during midweek to allow the pair to develop an understanding in a non competitive situation.

Quakers also have other questions hanging over their selection on Saturday afternoon and one of them is Carlos Logan. The winger played in the final twenty minutes of the draw against Wycombe Wanderers and was also involved in the game against York during midweek for the second string. However the exciting winger was left looking tired after the game and despite this Simon Johnson played excellently out wide during the last match and so Logan may have to start on the bench again.

Also back in contention are David Duke and Jonjo Dickman however central defender Joey Hutchinson will be missing and also out is Phil Stamp and Nathan Jameson. Both Dave Hodgson and assistant manager Mark Proctor have plenty to think about before the game at Moss Rose however the manager wants to see a bright start from whatever team he selects.

"We'll give the line up some thought, but whatever we go with, it is important that the players start brightly with a high tempo," said Hodgson in the Evening Gazette. "We're at our best when we do that. We picked up a lot of knocks last week against Wycombe, but the team dug in and played well. We're looking for the same spirit at Macclesfield. We have to push on and get ourselves established in the top 10. This game offers us the chance of three points. We are due an away win."

Quakers will face former player Clyde Wijnhard in this game. The Dutchman was shown the door by the club earlier in the season but due to technicalities has only been able to join Macclesfield on loan for the time being. Despite this Wijnhard is still able to play against Darlington. Whilst the traveling support may not exactly be relishing seeing the former player so soon Wijnhard certainly is. Another who will be looking forward to the game is fellow Dutchman Shelton Martis and will be hoping to keep Martis quite.

"I'm most looking forward to playing against Darlington at the weekend, it'll be very interesting for me to play against my old team mates and even my old housemate. It will definitely be a very competitive game and a great day for the fans," said Wijnhard on the official Macclesfield Town website.
