Accrington Stanley have taken a pre-match pint to another level with the news that the club have bought their own pub. Stanley have purchased the Crown pub which is next to the ground and are set to open the doors at the start of July. The club have bought the pub to help boost their finances and it is set to be open seven days a week.

Speaking about the decision to take on the venue, Stanley chief executive Rob Heys said "It's a fantastic opportunity for us, not only is it another income stream for us that will operate 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year, it is also a great presence for us on a busy main road. Hopefully it will be well patronised throughout the week and we can all buy a pint knowing that every single penny of profit made on our drink is going straight back into the football club."

Accrington are set to open their Coca-Cola League Two campaign against Wycombe Wanderers who have sealed a deal for striker John Sutton. The former Raith Rovers, Dundee and, most recently, St Mirren player was reportedly in high demand with a number of Championship teams also interested in the twenty-four year old. Despite this he has decided to make the switch to League Two and he explained that Wycombe's history played a part.

"For the division Wycombe are in, you've got an illustrious history," he said. "I've watched them on TV in the semi-finals of the Carling Cup and the FA Cup, and obviously the club have got the association with Martin O'Neill and a strong non-league pedigree as well, so it's a well-known club, even in Scotland."

Elsewhere in the division Milwall have swooped for Brentford left back Andy Frampton. During his time with Brentford, the naturally left-footed defender established himself as first choice in the full-back position, making 164 appearances in all competitions. Frampton is the fourth signing made by the club this summer.

Fellow defender Ben Futcher has severed his ties with Peterborough meanwhile. The player's contract with the Posh has been cancelled by mutual consent with a number of clubs interested in him. Futcher made twenty-two starting appearances for Posh during his short stay at London Road, scoring three league goals. Bury and Mansfield are reportedly interested in the giant centre back with Keith Alexander hopeful he will move to Gigg Lane.

Bury though have already added a defender to this side. Paul Morgan has been officially unveiled as the club's latest acquisition. The defender's name was instantly linked with Bury when Keith Alexander took on the role as director of football, having acted as club captain during his time at Lincoln City. The former Imps boss made no secret of the fact he had offered the Northern Irishman a chance to join the Shakers.

"I'm delighted to bring him to the club," Alexander said. "He was my captain for a long time at Lincoln and a fantastic professional. When I took over the role here, he was one of the first names I mentioned. He is an intelligent lad - and great to have around the dressing room. He is the type of reliable defender we will need next season, and I'm sure he'll do a great job."

Finally Alexander's former club Lincoln City have captured Steve Torpey. The experienced striker put pen to paper on a one year deal. Torpey, thirty-six, who has almost 600 League appearances to his name in a career spanning eighteen years, becomes Lincoln's first signing of the 2007/08 pre-season with his deal running until the summer of 2008. The forward is setting his sights on promotion with his new side.

"I had no hesitation in signing and when the opportunity came along I grabbed it with both hands," he said. "I've probably played my best football in this division over the years and having had two promotions in the last three year I think I've got some experience that might help us. I'm here to get the club promoted from this division and I'm looking forward to playing a part. It's a great opportunity for me."
