Darlington captain Steve Foster knows that the crowd on Saturday at the Balfour Webnet Darlington Arena can act as a twelfth man as the Quakers face Rochdale in the Play-Off semi-final first leg.

He has also urged his team-mates to relax and go into the clash full of belief.

"They're nervy and tense, but it's how you cope with that," he told BBC Tees.

"I've had two experiences in play-offs, one where we got knocked out in the semi-final at Bristol, and one where we won the final at Doncaster.

"I keep telling the lads, the experience is there for them to be a winner and the rewards are brilliant."

With decent weather and a ripple of excitement surrounding the play-offs, Foster is anticipating a bumper crowd at the Arena for the first of two important fixtures.

"The crowd can give you that lift, that buzz. I hope there will be a good crowd here, they will bring a few thousand and hopefully our fans will turn out," he said.

"Away at Peterborough the fans were quality, they sang all the way through and hopefully there will be a few more of them too."
