Dave Penney pondering team selection for Rochdale
Dave Penney is still pondering his team selection for Saturday's Play-Off semi final against Rochdale - a week after deciding what the line-up would be.
It was a makeshift side who beat Peterborough United last Saturday, this after having already decided who would play at the Balfour Webnet Darlington Arena in the televised clash.
Julian Joachim, Ryan Valentine, Tommy Wright and Steve Foster were all omitted from the side at London Road, either for rest or to fully recover from injury.
Steve Foster and Tommy Wright are expected to return and Julian Joachim and Ryan Valentine have recovered from injury.
Ben Parker is also available following his one-match ban.
And with Guylain N'Dumbu-Nsungu winning his battle against a groin strain, Penney's plans were firmed up.
N'Dumbu-Nsungu is now injury free and is working very hard in training, as he is short of match practice.
Penney admitted: "Saturday's 2-0 win has given me selections problems of the right kind. I don't read too much into the result because Peterborough had already won promotion, but the performance was very good.
"The players showed that they had the character and ability to spoil Peterborough's party. We now have options and will look at things carefully before Saturday."
